Alex is a multi-talented writer, director, educator, administrator, poet, coach, mentor, and professional ally based in Chicago, IL. Rooted in the principles of community, collaboration, empathy, equity, and justice, Alex is unwavering in their commitment to the pursuit of truth, beauty, and joy.

Alex's journey has been marked by a series of significant experiences in both art and community from coast to coast, including at Flint Youth Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, Seattle Rep, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, devising, directing, and producing groundbreaking work that challenges, empowers, and inspires young audiences. As an artist, Alex's work confronts the silence and stigma surrounding issues of identity, gender, mental health, ancestry, and grief. Their plays, poems, and essays have been praised for their honesty, insight, and compassion.

Throughout their career, Alex has been an ardent advocate for queer youth. They have intentionally created space for this advocacy in all of their previous roles and are now dedicating their practice to this work full-time.
